Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles recently announced her exciting "Common Thread", described as "Music and Lifestyle Celebration for a Cause" on Sugarland's official website. The show will run from November 20-22, 2008 at Beaver Creek and Aspen, Colorado, plus Santa Fe, New Mexico. The shows will be a fine way to crown the current Sugarland "Love on the Inside" tour which is set to end in mid-November 2008.
Jennifer Nettles has the face and voice that has sold Sugarland tickets like hot cakes this year and now she's showing her heart to the world with this awesome collective experience. Common Thread is an innovative project which connects culture, lifestyle, philanthropy and music. Jennifer Nettles is presenting the event which embodies several interconnected disciplines designed to bring harmony and wellness to people in an evermore stressful world. Nettles' philosophy of healthful equilibrium through yogic exercise, philanthropy and music is turning heads way beyond the world of Country!
Nettles released a statement on their website, saying, "I’m hoping Common Thread will be a multi-genre diverse bill under the 'common thread' of activism and community organization. I do believe that one action can cause a ripple and make a difference. So, if you inspire some of your fans to go out into their own communities and effect change, then that’s success."
Both Jennifer Nettles and Sugarland co-star Kristian Bush will play the event, plus guests including Indigo Girls' Emily Saliers. Philadelphian Jazz-Fusion star Amos Lee will provide an appropriately eclectic edge to proceedings which will entail group acoustic sets as well as solo performances. The Vilar Theatre in Beaver Creek and the Wheeler Opera House in Aspen will house the Colorado leg of the event, while the Santa Fe Armory for the Arts will be buzzin' with life down in New Mexico.
Nettles will be donating all proceeds to the American Cancer Society.
Kristian Bush will donate to the American Liver Foundation.
